Just want to know what you guys/gals think about ten pin bowling, have any of you tried it?

do you think it is a sport or a pub game?

Please forgive me I used to bowl ,went mad and entered competions ,then went back to rallying ,thank God,got average up to 192,yes thats how sad I was.

Not sad at all - I used to bowl in a couple of leages at Heathrow/Charrington bowl a few years back. Held a 180 average for about 18 months before I had to let it slip 'cos of work. It's a good laugh - one of the few sports where beer drinking is a part of the game.

My personal best was a 260-game. I watched one of the guys in my team bowl a 299 game once (11 strikes and a 9 ). He was gutted when the last pin wobbled but didn't fall.

Used to bowl over at crawley about 11 years ago in the south east counties bowling league, started in division 4 got up to division 3, then the firm moved to London and we could never get home in time (they used to play) suprised myself when we went bowling on saturday and got 5 strikes and a spare, only problem was I kept wasting them by bowling crap on the next bowls. Pretty impressed with my 9 year old daughters 2 strikes and 2 spares though, a quite respectable 112 scored by her.
