Sp I've got travel insurance so do I need to get an E111 for as well or not? Never really understood what they were for!

E111 gives very basic coverage for health services. Most docs in the EU operate on both a private and freeby (think NHS, or like most of our dentists) service.
Many of them will not want to cover foreigners on an E111 as this basically gives you freeby (NHS stylee) health coverage rather than a nice fat fee.

You can insist on using your E111 but when you can't get an appointment for 5 days into your holiday and your rabies is getting angry, you'll wish you'd paid your money!

Make sure you are well covered with comprehensive medical insurance. You know it makes sense.
