Plantie, not sure if O2 have improved matters but when I was with them and they were cellnet, Ive never been ripped off so much by costs, I moved to orange and *halfed* my bill and vowed I would never, ever touch cellnet, O2 or whatever $hit name they want to give themselves cos they are robbing f**kers!

Stick to Vodafone or Orange.
I'm with Orange and have had no probs whatsoever, but may consider switching to Vodafone because they have a greater coverage for some of the more remote areas which I travel to sometimes.

I've heard similar woes relating to O2/ Cellnet.

Simple idea for those wanting O2 tariffs but on a decent network. Buy your phone through Orange and use their Orange Value Plan guarantee (They will match any tariff advertised by the other networks). That way you get the phone on Orange (hooray!!) and pay the O2 tariffs which as you will find out are pretty much the best in the business, but they need to be, O2 pretty much sucks for coverage, service etc etc

reffro,

exactly just what I do, orange phone on one2one (T-mobile) tariff, oh yes and who else apart from Orange gurantees coverage? so much so if you lose a call because of being in a bad area you get the cost of the call refunded, cant say fairer than that can you?

Cool

That's what the step-daughter does, she has a Cellnet phone for her textaholism Then uses her boyfiends Vodafone for calls, cos he hasn't got the bottle to ask her to pay for the use of his phone
She had a good teacher - her flippin' mother

I changed from Vodafone to O2 a while back due to no reception at home on Vodafone.

No problems up to now.

When last in Cornwall (several years ago and when originally on Cellnet) my phone worked where my partners vodafone one didn't and vice versa.

Horses for courses I think.

Any of them are better than One-To-None for coverage, one of my customers his on their service and travels all over the country. I've never had a complete conversation with him in 2 years.

if your gonna go onto o2 get the tariff off the net, as the deals are MUCH better than the shops, including o2 shop. i`m on lesure 500? 500min to same network off peak, 50min cross net and 500 text any network 500wap per month. coverage is spot on in my area, possably better than my old orange network. they also do nextday delivery did mine at night too

Plantie - I wouldn't bother. I was on Vodafone, as were most of the company and we never had a problem with signal. However, the company chose to move to Cellnet at the time because of cheaper business rates and provide us all with phones, instead of personal contracts. But, as we all travel around the UK we constantly complain about the service, and how the signal will appear full strength one minute, and then disappear a second later, when you have not even moved!

There are 15 or so of us on Cellnet, and each of us roam around the country - this is not just confined to my personal experience, but theirs aswell.

We all want to go back to Vodafone, as there is nothing more annoying than attempting to either take/make a sales call and you keep losing the signal.
