Ah, if thats the case, you broke your pinky knuckle. I've had this broken loads of times punching the heavy bag the wrong way. It tkas a good few months before it heals completely.

Sounds like a Boxer's fracture - name for fracture of 5th metatarsal (bone at lateral aspect of hand away from thumb). What muppet put you in a plaster cast - none of these need casted. Can be treated in a tight bandage around the hand. Rarely approx 1-2% need fixed if there is devaition of the little finger but vast majority don't as you will not lose any fuction in hand. Make sur you are seen again by fracture service or A&E senior doctor before you go on holiday so you can get the plaster cast removed.

I did the same thing back in 1993 although I did it when I punched this bloke in the head. It ended up being a fracture, just before the knuckle on the hand end, not finger end, of the little finger. Sounds like what Brendy is talking about. It looks like the knuckle is missing on my hand when I haven't got my fist clenched. If I lay my hand flat with the palm side, on say a desk, the little finger has a slight bend downwards between the knuckle and where the finger begins. I can still use that finger but it won't bend upwards as far as it used to and the actual finger looks a little thinner than it did before.
Get well soon.

Wrexy.

What, so now you've busted two then? You won't have any knuckles left at the rate you're going!

Glad you got the pot off(less of a stupid tan)
I did similar to the tiny bone in the wrist at the thumb side. Aiches like hell for ages. They put a pot on this, but had to tell them to take it off and strap or i would. It hurt alot less without the pot on.
To make you laugh i did it chasing a RAT with a SHOVEL in my dads pig shed. I slipped as i hit it and went **** over tit. Did not hurt until i went to hit the next one and i thought my hand had dropped off.
