Question

I have recently got back into my happy hardcore after being out of the scene since i was 18/19. I used to go United Dance (Stevenage) back in 1996/1997.

I've forgotton how much I loved it!! All the memories came streaming back from all different tunes i have listened to over the past month or so, including the lovely tingling sensation you get. (Some of you may know what I mean?)
No other music does this to me, but it also makes me drive like a complete f***ing a5rsehole. Yeah I'm a swift driver anyway, well as swift as you can be in a Ford Focus 1.6 company hack.

Does anyone else have this driving fast problem with HAPPY HARDOCRE or any music at all??

I recently made up a CD containing (amongst others) these tracks:

New Order - Spooky (magimix)
Faithless - Salva Mea
Olive - You're Not Alone
Prodigy - Breathe
JXL vs Elvis - A little less conversation
Fat Boy Slim - Praise you
Everything But the Girl - Missing (Todd Terry mix)

It's a very dangerous CD, as it seems to make me drive like a lunatic.

Cool

The tunes that alter my driving behaviour are:

- Intoxication: React2Rhythm
- Always on the Run: Lenny Kravitz
- Smells Like Teen Booty: Destiny's Child vs Nirvana
- Renegade Soundwave: RSW (Leftfield mix)
- Can't get u out of my bed: Kylie vs. Soulwax
- Terminator: Goldie
- Artificial: X-Ray Spex

I just get a red mist on when any of these play. Music is dangerous, kids ...

I know where you are coming from, as I've recently downloaded old DJ Sy, Dougal, Ratpack, etc... CD's from the early 90s, and I've been driving around with a huge smile in my face listening to it, and yes, my right foot does seem to get a little heavier!

I had a few bonkers cd's in my car and had to take them out becuase they do exactly what they say to my driving...

Mind you any hard house does that as well.. and the louder the better!

I get the same thing but not with happy hardcore. I'm a big trance fan and playing one of my fave trance CD's from around '98 or '99 makes my right foot so much heavier.

I absolutely CANNOT drive slow to System F's 'Out Of The Blue'

I had to stop listening to metal whilst driving as it was just palin dangerous. Slayer, Spultura, Death. Morbid Angel, all potential licence loosers. I still find bands such as Nine In Nails , KMFDM and Ministry make me drive a little aggresively or a bit too fast, justy got to be aware of it.

Anything with a heavy aggressive beat will do it.

Bonkers has been re released you know. Bonkers the rezurection is in the shops now. Look on the inside of the Sharkey CD at the thanks section and you will see yours truly get a mention
As for hardcore (it aint really called happy hardcore anymore) It is still around. I'm having a house party on the 24th with a top DJ lineup (when I say top I mean professional ) and the best bit is its gonna all be streamed live on the net
I'll put up the URL when I know what it is so you can all listen in

oh no dont mention bonkers!!

DJ hicksey et al...

urggggghh.........im cringing just thinking about the one and only time "shooting star" was sung by 16 year old girls in the back of my car. Of course it was my EX girl friends CD... it was given a life ban (the CD) after that episode.

UK Hardcore- also refered to as Charva music where I come from.
can anyone answer these questions

what the whistle posse is?
what go go go means?
if running on the spot is actually a form of dance?
If counting numbers is actually rapping?

When i used to listen to happy hardcore i used to drive like a nutter.Had a few crashes to. Its true sometimes when the right song comes on it does send tingles down my back. Strange eh!!? or maybe that was the sheep i hit. :-)

Those were the days. (Raves) Better than any club/party and the people were far more friendly and less likely to smash your face in.

PS. Does anyone know how the hell MC storm used to scratch with his voice like he did? It was like a kind of high pitch noise. Still, SY is the champ.
