I just worked out that I spend £132 per month on food here at work !! (average of £6 per day x average of 22 working days per month) Thats breakfast/lunch plus cans of diet coke etc.
I find this amazing !!
Got me thinking though - does anyone have any (serious) good ways of saving a few quid here & there - it all adds up !
....& please - no "tie carpet tiles to your feet to save money on shoes" type VIZ stuff !!

Take lunch with you, but start with it 2-3 times a week so you can wean yourself off the sarnies and KFC lunches slowly (i am in month 37 of this, still having problems getting off the KFC).
Also try shopping at Aldi. Stuff is alot cheaper but its good quality, its a german shop.

Buy a packed lunch box and use it for exactly that.
Drink water instead of Coke.
If you pay for parking;
Find a car that looks the same as yours.
Note its reggie number and have a set of plates made up.
Stick them on your car and let the tickets flood in.
Remove said plates for the journey home.
The saving in parking costs should recoup the initial outlay of buying a set of plates, in a matter of days

Hello
You will probably find that food is your largest outlay after your mortgage and (possibly) your car.
Take your £132, then add takeaways / beer (sort of food!) / weekly shop.
Prepare to faint.
Steve.

I spend about £5-7 a day on food just for lunch. It's scary how it mounts up.
Ways to save money:
1. Check your mobil tariff/usage.
2. Pay off any debt you have.
3. Refinance any debt you can't pay off to get a lower rate.
4. Cook at home more and don't eat out as often.
5. Drink less beer.
6. Sell your scoob.

This may sound sad, but:
I used to by my lunch at sainsburys every day, its 2 mins away.
Anyway, I still do, however rather than £2.50 on sarnies, can of drink, crisps etc say total £4. I buy a baguettine - 45 p and much nicer, then I buy fillings like smoke salmon pate, pastrami etc etc - this bit sometimes lasts 3 days, so on average my sarny cost like £1 ish. I sacked off the other bits. Reckoning on being 50 or 60 quid a month better off.
Cant beleieve I wrote that.

ADP - Sounds like a great idea!
I get the other half to make my sandwhiches and reckon we save a fortune...we added up one of the guys totals for money spent on drink/food at work, it was 5/6 cups of coffee from the machine a day and sandwhiches/pub etc. worked out as you were saying near to £200 a month...and he has a scooby
Oh - and on friendly terms with the service manager at the local scooby garage...swear it saves me a fortune
