I favour following "rule 1" in these cases - Don't get caught
Didn't think it was easy to miss the MOT. Get it done quickly, and say you don't have the old certificate if they ask?

If the vehicle can be shown to have been in perfect working order. IE had just had a full major service by a dealership, would absence of MOT meant absence of insurance ?
