In Poole/Dorset on Tuesday nights all the motorbikers meet up, park up and have a social gathering. This has been going on for several years but suddenly the council have decided to put marshalls at the entereance and started to charge £1. I am just wondering what would happen if I decided to push past without paying. I have paid once with my road tax and surely that entitles me to use and park on a highway providing there are no double yellows etc. Are the council breaking the law ?

No it's along the main road along the Quay. It been running for years and is recognised and allowed by the police and authorities. there are marshalls there to help out but now they have been told to charge us.

Cheeky ******* - I'd kick up a big fuss about this matey - I dunno how they are going to justify closing public roads like that. A44holes the lot of em - makes me wanna puke..

I spend a year and a half down in Poole, and the relaxed atmosphere on the Quay was great - French markets, fireworks etc.

Bloody hell theres a blast from the past... Spent a few years near Sandbanks. Loved going down the front to see the bikes etc.. Was always a great atmosphere,

Very simple answer to this. Change locations and don't tell the council.

Seriously though they cannot charge you for parking legally on a road (assuming you have tax, Insurance poss mot, and there are no parking restrictions.)

Well i was down in Poole today for the first time in a couple of years.

Maybe the bikers don't complement the new marina and "whatever" that is being built behind the old pottery.
