Castle Combe Silver Evo 6
#1
Just to add my bit as I was there. The EVO came out of the pits behind Babber so didn't catch him up as some had suggested.
Agree with some of the comments about poor driving and on some of the sessions it was more of a race with some very dodgy manouveres going on. For whatever reason this was caused by the EVO drivers, possibly due to there being more EVO's on track that day. Maybe they are all a bit insecure and feel they need to prove something ? like some of the comments on this thread !

....'fraid i agree with Rosco..
even in the slowest evo on the track...(well ..maybe the least experienced with a quick car on the track) i thought its all about driving as fast as you can, as safely as you can, in as much as a controled enviroment as you could possibly get, and get the same thrill as actually racing (OK i may be a nieve but hey!)....
its not that hard ...the track govs say over taking on the right is the way to go ...fair enough..at the end of the day indicate so the guy or girl behind knows wich way to go to get past you, but if you feel intimidated when a faster car is up your a$$..stick to 'P' plates, you should not be on the track...thats the game...
i really don't beliebve that it matters what car your driving...
..if the faster car is in your rear view..just indicate and get out of the way! easy really...don't see what all the fuss is about..
god damn scooby pu$$ys..
.
IMHO of course

Was it you the ****** in the the silver EVO 6 that spent two laps behind me (RB5) while I thought I was holding you up, so was desperately trying to let you past!!! Made me go off my racing line many times, and generally fcuked my track time up When you did go past, I realised that I could keep up with you, even thought I could pass you again.
Well thanks for nothing mate Oh and by the way I had about ten people come up to me after and ask "what the **** was that Evo doing" Have watched it all on video and you were out of order.
Cheers Phill C
PS I stopped and waited inside the compound for you to get away, as I was seeing red and wanted to **** you

Having sat and watched from various corners I'm glad I wasn't out there. The EVO's did all appear to be racing rather than trying to have safe fun. The Extreme car was quite good at putting off others and nearly causing mis-haps.

On the morning sessions, I blew several Evo's away in my STI7. Took them quite easily, I don't think they liked it one bit, they looked very suprised.
They can race me again anytime.

cryptwalk and scooby nutter,
What are you both on about, this thread was supposed to be discussing the ****ing idiot in the EVO 6 behind / in front of me, and what a tosser he was. I wasn't racing anyone, but was annoyed at the ***** holding me up waiting for him to pass, then accelerate away from me, which didn't happen.
All this bollox about who's cars faster isn't important. The STi7 was very quick on the day, and I think the driver was simply making an observation.
I'm sure someone will find something else to argue about in the thread, as that's all that seems to go on here these days.
Grow up lads, this is getting annoying
Cheers Phill C

I've since decided that I'm only going to do Scooby only track days from now on, as the drivers don't seem to have anything to prove. Not like the EVO and Cossie boys :flame suite on:

It was just an observation. I was just driving enjoying myself when I came up behind three Evo's.
Shame they couldn't keep up.
Did I say 'race' I meant driver development.
Sorry if I upset anyone.

5903's comment were nothing to do with the said EVO6 driver why single me and scoobynuttter out? THis is obvious victimisation (sp?) and will be delt with as such.

I take it you didnt attend the SIDC national day at donny then?
B.t.w I think you'll be pushed to find any "scooby only" track days. Also a **** can drive any car from a ford to a ferrari so try not to tar everyone with the same brush.
Shame they couldn't keep up.

Thread related, yes this fellow does seem like a bit of A git maybe hit was his first track day? People should be out into groups depending on track experience. Then groups could be sent out seperate and this would save on any experience like this also making the track a safer place to get to grips with your car.

Someone driving a £20k EVO is bound (unless they are loaded) to take care more on track than someone who spent £7k on a scooby IMHO of course.
Some people can't afford to spend 20K on a car and have to stick to something they can afford, this doesn't mean that they are going to rip it around track like a loony!!!!!!!!!!!!

cryptwalk and scoobynutter,
I wasn't trying to single you two out, just could see another EVOs are better than Scoobies, etc, etc. I get really fed up of reading the M3 vs Sti vs whatever threads on here, and consider it to be really ****e. This is supposed to be a Suburu BBS for people that own or what to own a Scooby. That's not to say that everyone else isn't welcome and are free to express and opinion
The **** in the EVO6 was slower than me once he'd passed me, and maybe I should have said given another few laps could have done him and pulled away. I didn't as I was on the track trying to enjoy myself. This idiot made it difficult for me.
Anyway, my RB5 is nearly worth 20k (well 16 to 17k) and I was giving it some!! I can't afford to smash it up, and use it everyday as my transport, but will enjoy the car whenever possible. It's only a car.
I have done SIDC events, Bedford for example and was impressed at everyones spirits, encouragement. There were a few other cars there (Blowdogs Skyline, etc) I nearly lost it big style on the main straight past the pits. Came in next lap and everyone clapped as I managed to keep it under control. No evidence of that on Saturday from the Cossie and Evo boys
Sorry if I offended anyone other than the ****** in the EVO6, as I don't want to argue, or be drawn into an arguement.......
Cheers Phill C
PS If it makes anyone feel better I thought the EVOs were very quick, but was surprised at my old RB5 ability to keep up with the crowd

Interesting thread this
Surely the ****** in the Evo must have been faster than you, because he caught you up didnt he? Mebbe it was the case that YOU speeded up once behind him because YOU was using HIS brake lights and lines?
I was`nt there of course, but thats the way it reads?

Babber,
I wasnt having ago at you in any way.
I'm just sick of all this F****** bull***** about:Wasted a 500bhp skyline in my mk1 ford fiesta popular,Those Evo's are **** slow because i overtook 5 on the track!!!
we all know that there is nothing between a wrx/sti and a Evo,why do people have to say that the other car is slow and they couldnt keep up.
maybe they arnt as good a driver as you 5903??
Well 5903 when are you doing another trackday because my friend says he will show you what a standard Evo 5 will do
Oh and by the way,he use to be the Uk Caterham champion
He will also bring along a R34 650bhp+ Skyline(2.8 stroker kit ,all steel internals, tuned by Hiteq)to see if you can waste that also.
let me know on your next trackday
Best regards

An observation, welcome or not that I will make is that whenever I have been to Knockhill, there has never been any real dispute on the board afterwards.
In fact I did have a problem with one of the drivers on the last track day there and I was able to speak with him in person about it. I gave him my view (he hadn't done anything wrong towards me, it is what I saw him do ahead of me) he gave me his view, we discussed it and no more was said.
All it seems to be with English track days is poor etiquette and people complaining about people's driving.
Then we have people who weren't there butting in and defending *their* side of the camp Evo's or scoobies
Maybe Evos and Scoobs should nop longer have track days together?
Would be a real crying shame as I enjoy meeting the people and passengering and being able to drive on track.
Still.....

bunch of lilly livered winging faggotts over here in Scoobyland!
lads, you'd better just keep off the track if you see any Evo's about in future - you are just baiting fodder for the Evo posse.
give it up kiddies & keep saving your pocket money!

Excellent, you Evo peeps are making yourselves look so good by rising to the bait and answering in the fashion that you are doing
I give up.
Scotland track days are a hell of a lot better than Southern ones!!!!!
I really enjoy going out on track with both Evos and scoobs but not when it degrades to this sort of behaviour!!!
