I kid you not. Did a gig in Dolgalleu, Wales last weekend, and on the stage after us where this brilliant Siberian band called "Yha Kha". Don't be scared, they call it Throat singing, but if you can imagine a human didgerydoo in a rock band, you're getting close.

Seriously, unless you like silly boom boom boom boom, check them out.

Hoomi throat singing comes from Tuva republic and north of Mongolia. It's pretty impressive, singing with two voices at once, a low-pitched growl from the throat and a high-pitched nasal sound. My one gripe is that, in Mongolia at least, it is usually accompanied by the horse-head fiddle (like a 2-string violin), which totally overrides the nasal sound, so it's difficult to appreciate the two human voices.

There's a British guy who does this called Michael Ormiston, he's a good friend of my Mongolian wife.

I was in Dolgalleu a couple of weeks ago - Did you play at the music week in Barmouth? Had a great holiday there - beautiful scenery and some lovely roads....
