Question

...Currently mostly live in Bristol, but because of a change in family circumstances I'd like to move to lancashire, ideally a nicer Fylde/Wyre village.

Suprisingly houses seem no (or only a little) cheaper there than they are here so I need to find reasonably paid work to make a living.

Which is where the problem is! I'm an IT contractor, currently in a decent (and potentially ongoing) Project Management role. I've been watching jobserve and speaking to agents lately and no similar work seems to be coming up in the area. I'd also be happy in a permy job, but again I've heard of nothing suitable. So any advice or contacts welcome about finding a sensible job. Previously I've been involved it IT at all levels from support positions to running my own retail company and will turn my hand at anything that will keep me in house and skyline

So any suggestions welcome...

Jon

IT jobs do get paid more darn sarf, and most contracting jobs tend to be in London, Birmingham or Manchester with those in London attracting higher wages. Maybe look for somewhere cheaper than Fylde village?

well working in the south west and the money is on a par with london really Some of our people are travelling from london to us...

I'm not restricted to IT work either - consider anything!

As for Hiteq - already spoken to them as I usually in lancs a couple of times a month.

for lancashire i would try bae systems, samlesbury and warton are huge sites...

(that is unless you are the eco-warrior type who doesn't like contributing to peace and stability in a changing world... [flame suit on standby!]

you could maybe try asking or writing to the Filton office first - believe that's not too far away?

Mixing Plaster - does it pay well? I've done a little when fixing my house! Mail me if I could afford to run a 4 bed house and 3 cars on the income

BAE - Yes thats the only real lead I could think of, know loads of people working there...

Anything else?
