In my local Sainsbury they have a Stella one for £88. It has a clear glass front and looks the dogs.

I bought a mate one recently for his birthday. It was about £90 from the Gadget Shop. It has a mains plug as well as the handy cigarette lighter socket for the car. It holds about 4-6 cans (depending on size) + loads of Mars bars

The Stella ones (and Fosters' ones going around) look cool but they don't have a light inside - anyone know where to get one that lights up to give that real 'pub at home' feel to it?

I got a Fosters one from Currys for a Xmas pressie last year. It has a glass door and the light inside just like a pub (you can leave the light on or off via a switch on the front). However, it is the size of a normal kitchen fridge so may be too big for a lot of people. It was about £120 with 48 free cans of Fosters too!

I've been looking for something slightly different but similar for ages:

The only place in my house I can store wine is in an area of shelving directly above my central heating boiler. This is obviously less than ideal as the temperature of the wine will not remain constant and chilled.

Anyone seen a small fridge at a reasonable cost (like you see under the bar in a pub/winebar) that will hold 12-24ish bottles of wine??

TIA,

Alex

Alex,
The one I have got holds beer or wine as it has the white grill type shelves(4), like a food fridge. We keep cans in the bottom couple of shelves and white whites on the top shelves. Can get 5-6 bottles per shelf in.

Sean,

Where did you get it?

I'm not after a fridge just for white wine, rather one that will store red and white and the optimum temperature.

I'm not sure, but I think that fridges designed for wine are not AS cold as those designed for food, but red and white wine should both be stored at similar temperatures, you just bring red up to room temp before drinking it.

Most of the wine I own is not around for long enough to go of , but some of it is more expensive stuff and I don't want to lose it through it going off...

I got mine from Currys and it is just like the undercounter ones that you see in pubs, with glass door and a large Fosters advert across the door which annoyingly is sandwiched between the double glazing of the door and can't be removed!! It is about the same size as a food fridge. I looked on the Currys website and they don't seem to sell it now, but if you look on the Comet website under 'Chillers' there is a very similar one (same size, glass door etc) which is about £200. You are right about the temperature which is higher than food fridges and on the instructions it specifically warns not to store food in the drinks 'cooler'. There is a **** on the back to adjust the temperature too so you could get the right temp for wines easily.
