On the way home my recently acquired Snooper S5 went mental when I came up behind a tractor - usual fare with flashin light. I backed off and signal got weaker, got close and it got damned strong again. Eventually it turned off and no signal.

Question - wtf on a tractor gives off k band signals ?!

it may have been an undercover police tractor mate,durham police will try anything these days

It may have been the radar on the tractor which works out area worked etc.
ps Don't ask how I know that!

Do wot ?! Yer havin a larf right farmer bug-eyed wonder ?

So i've just spend £300 on a top of the range automatic door, traffic light and tractor detector ? Can i expect any other interesting finds ?

Mildly amused of Durham....

I phoned my mate Ted about this one as he owns a farm in Wiltshire. He reckons that the only thing on a tractor that could possibly affect the K band are 1/ CB radio operating on an illegal frequency, 2/ "Grass box full" indicator lamp in cab (assuming it had the optional grass cutting implement attached).....Blutes

No grass cuttin gear attached - a silage style trailer on the back. V curious. Either way, it was quite handy i knew sommat was up and didnt come up fast behind it round the bend...

jonny gav - think i've seen yer about. I'm normally seen sportin my 555 Subaru yellow and blue jacket (1995 stylee). Gettin one of these babies fer the back window soon from salsa king too:-

A lot of tractors and agricultural vehicles have a gps tracker system on them, this interfere's with radar equipment....

some combines have GPS that links to the yield monitor. Farmer Giles can then download data , analyse and then fertlize cost effectivily in those places that need it

errr - I used to do IT for an agricultural machinery manufacturer OK
