Joyriders get citizens arrest
#1
Read in the paper today about a some joyriding ******* who were driving around a playing field in Bristol like madmen in a stolen Escort. Residents phoned the police (Avon & Somerset) and they didn't turn up after several calls. To cut a long story short 4 of the residents caught the hooligans and made a citizens arrest after flooring them. They phoned the police again several more times only to be told "our resources are stretched to the limit and we can't attend", no doubt they were out "busy" with the speed traps or in the camera vans Needless to say the residents had to let them go. A couple of hours later they were back and torched the car after hitting a wall. What the hell is happening ???

Like when my car got broken into a few months back and also my neighbour disturbed hooligans theiving from his car, called 999 and plod said they would attend. Like hell did they. Later in the day they merely phoned with a crime number and my neighbour had in excess of £800 of damage caused toi the door and interior of his car and got a black eye and swollen face after being floored by the hooligans and he is a pensioner of 70 plus. Tonight's local paper says car crime in Plymouth has surged up by 50% in last 12 months due to crack addicts etc etc. Yet in 2 articles below this the police have the resource to have 6 traffic units with mobile cameras hitting the streets of Plymouth for a 7 day campaign.
If you ask me it bloody sucks!!!!

Years ago, some theiving kids broke into our trailer with karting stuff in while we went home to tea.
Came back and caught one red handed, frog marched him back hto his home, picked up our stuff, then got him to direct us to his friends house, picked him and the rest of our stuff up. Took them both to the police station under citizens arrest, and the duty sarge was quite surprised.
We got all our kit back, they got done AND had to pay £100 for damage. The parents were none to pleased that we 'abducted' their thieving kids, but the police were strangely untouched.

Peddle drugs, rob old ladies, nick cars = Get a rehabilitation order and all the help you can from the DHSS
Break the speed limit by 25 mph on a deserted motorway at midnight = loose your licence and potentially your livelihood/job and pay a whacking fine
The law in this country is shambolic
I sypathise with the grass roots police, their jobs must be so frustrating having brought Billy Nomark to court only to see him get off with a few hours community service

This is the same police force who spend ludicrus amounts of money trying to stamp out "illegal" cruising. Avon and somerset police have impounded a large amount of cruisers cars for having th audacity to park in a public car park at night. Supt. Lawrie Lewis is the guy in charge of this wonderous scheme.
Supt. Lewis, sort your bloody act out and go catch some real criminals.
