I need a cheap hire car for, well as long as it takes for my scoob to be fixed (possible big end failure).

Who do you know that does the best prices?

thanks in advance, Mark.

Try easy cars. They are about £15 if you include damage insurance.
They only supply Merc A classes but are quite fun as long as you are not going too far.
Being in the SW you may have trouble in finding their nearest office.

http://www.easyjet.com (sorry - but stil cannot make proper links).

Local Ford and Vauxhall main dealers are usually dirt cheap. Easycar are cheap on the surface, but don't forget they have a 75 mile a day limit on the hire, which if exceeded sooon pushes up the cost.
