snooper s5 question

3 weeks ago i got caught speeding again (second time) doing 72 in a 60,so i went out and bought myself a laser/radar detector. i got caught by one of these mobile vans with a man and camera in the boot(i know this cos i saw him too late),but the weird thing is,i saw him again yesterday and it didnt activate anything on the snooper!!!!i even drove back past him to make sure, but still no bleeps.
my question is....whats this guy catching people with and what can detect it,cos i bought the snooper to do this and its not detecting the policeman

My snooper (not an S5) didn't make any noise when passing one of these on a bridge over the M4, which surprised me 'cos I thought they were just mini gatsos.
Fortunately I was going slowly anyway.

Also, if the copper has a laser gun, it will only reliably trigger the detector if he's actually pointing it at you and using it - although you do sometimes pick up scattering if he's targeting another car nearby. Gatsos use radar which will always be picked up by a good alarm.
