I've not watched Ice Dancing since Torvil & Dean The only skating sports I watch are the Ice Hockey and Speed Skating, although this Olympics I've only really been following the Alpine Skiing events - Was hoping Dave Ryding would get a medal in the Slalom this morning after his win in Kitzbühel and has had a great season overall, but sadly not to be!
Seen the news about this Russian girls drug test though. Apparently she tested positive for a type of Angina medicine, so the Grandad story is not impossible, but we're talking about a Russian athlete doping in the Olympics, so there are more likely scenarios. What I find hard to believe is that a 15y.o. really at the start of he career would be so motivated to compete at the very top level to already be doping of her own free will. If this really is a case of intentional doping, the blame has to be fully laid at her trainers and the Russian sports authorities and not on the girl herself!
To be honest, I find it appalling that Russian athletes are still allowed to compete in the Olympics, even if its only under the ROC label, given their institutional doping programs. Only a complete and lengthy ban will make any difference to them. It makes a mockery of the anti-doping regulations that they are still allowed to compete! Once again total corruption in sporting authorities such and the IOC, FIFA, EUFA etc.

I am guessing she will be shipped off to Siberia and never seen again upon her return to Russia.
