Default Bournemouth

A question regarding the groynes - when I was a child in the 40's and 50's , I recall the groynes used to be totally exposed during low tide -Does this still happen?
and one last question , the cliff lift , does it still operate .Thank You

The lift cars work every weekend untill easter then daily untill october, weather permitting.

Just googled that for you, i have no idea about the groins, but their still exposed in eastbourne. I grew up in the 70s so you have few years on me.

The groynes get more exposed the closer you get to Boscombe and Southbourne. Lots there, good shorebreak once in a while.

Unless current / longshore drift has altered direction ....

the only other possibility for change would be chucking more sand / pebbles on there !

Like they do here every year

Global warming might have added few mills

wear and tear may have subtracted a few mills

I thought they just moved the shingle from my end of the beach to yours.

Sorry dont know what happend you will have to crane your neck to view properly lol
