“I don’t think there is anything particularly wrong about hitting a woman- although I don’t recommend doing it in the same way that you’d hit a man. An open-handed slap is justified if all other alternatives fail.” – Sean Connery

I wonder in which decade that quote was ?
He was capable of being very gentile , his mature performance in Robin and Marion showed he was capable of a far gentler touch.

Kelly Brook also made comments about hitting Jason Statham during their relationship and trivialised it
Mel Sykes also admitted to domestic violence against her partner

Both incidents more recently than the comments made by Mr Connery - but Brook's & Sykes' "misdemeanors" seem to have been forgotten about

I don't condone any form of violence within a relationship, but its interesting how people see it from differing view points.

Before placing Sean Connery in the abusive category, one might be able to follow his development together with our society.

Original Quote was to Playboy in 1965
Baited he defended his opinion in an interview in 1987 and again in 1993 but by 2006 he is quoted by the Times as saying " I don't believe that any level of abuse is ever Justified under any circumstances full stop.

Leaving us now as a man of our times.

also refused to do adverts for Apple, even though he would have been paid handsomely for doing so.

Mr Jobs got a free autograph

On another note, I got done for drink driving once when I was 18, I turned my life around and actually work 2 jobs...being a council worker making sure elderly people and ALL people are warm but also at LFC as a steward. If mr. Connerly changed his views then happy days, if not then...
