No, not a Kraut yet, passed the test with 100% but still need to pull my finger out and get my B1 certificate which is pants because my German is way above B1

I didn't do a B1.

Einbürgerung cert was enough along with the application form and requested paperwork along with hand writen lebenslauf.

The requirements only state you have to have adequate German language, but don't define what adequate is! Each council can set their own rules and here they decided to make B1 the requirement even if your German is clearly better - rules is rules!
