The commercial version of Roundup is available online, and is approx 4 times stronger than the garden centre version. It is still available as lobbyists within the EU have campaigned for keeping it, although the original manufacturer has been successfully sued by cancer sufferers. However, it is one of the few effective weed killers.

As said regardless of brand, the main ingredients is Glyphosate...Bayer (Monsanto) successfully lobbied the EU to ban its competitors, so that is pretty much all you have now...just in different strengths.
Gallup amenity is good if you can get it....it’s still glyphosate but you have a gallon of concentrate rather than 500ml of diluted premix or sachets that’ll mix 5litres, so is far more economical to use.
Waste brake fluid works well too
I don’t encourage it, as it stinks and is nasty stuff, but it finally got rid of a persistent sycamore stump that wouldn’t give up

RoundUp kills everything,
If its just weeds that grow in your lawn (thistles, nettles, docks brush etc) you should use Grazon Pro kills all but the grass.

Before I started here I believe that residual pesticides were common place, especially in cemeteries etc, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

This is what I use as a landscaper, but this, and Grazon should be applied by someone with a pesticide spray license. Failing that, don't spray in wind, or hot weather, and wear nitrile elbow gloves and a face shield. Glyphosate is not environmentally friendly ( it builds up in all parts of the food chain, as it is designed to enter tissues) and has been linked to Hodgkin's lymphoma.

It only works on green growth (or cutting into the bark/trunk), so don’t waste it spraying bare ground..as said it’s designed to breakdown in soil, so it’s no good for preventing weeds germinating.
