Default Music in films

More specifically music that captured the moment......

Not that I'm not an AC/DC utter fanboy, but Thunderstruck at completely the right moment in Battleship. Whoever picked it. Hats off. Bloody perfect music/scene

I do like AC/DC

There are many more films and music which invoke strong memories.

Doctor Zhivago-Lara Theme
Laurence of Arabia- Maurice Jarre
Pulp fiction
Forrest Gump
Fistful of Dollars
Shaft
2001
Gone with the wind
The Graduate
Italian Job
Bridge over river Kwai
Bullet

etc etc.

John Williams & Hans Zimmer have most of them sewn up with Sergio Leone coming in 3rd for me. Loved M83’s work on Oblivion though.

I wonder how many songs they put over a scene and then go ‘yeah that’s the one’

I do like the "Night at the movies" slot of Classic FM actually. I had Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack (The Curse of the Black Pearl) on in the car today going to & from Edinburgh. It's another great example of a soundtrack that is as perfect for the film as the film is perfect for it - you know - seems like no other music would suit the film and no other film would suit the music.

Yep. Some utter crackers there In fact, just play a few bars of those songs and the whole movie just appears in your head.

Buster? .

I actually find film soundtracks quite good for setting up the EQ /TA levelling on car audio installs.

On a serious suggestion, I'll throw in The Matrix and Cruel Intentions

(Good call on M83, SJ )

Not purpose-written, but the soundtrack to
Blow Blow
is really quite good.
