Hi.

I'm moving house at the end of the month, and the new house has enclosed parking which opens onto a main road. The parking space is behind a 6 foot double wooden gate, opening inwards.

Now I'm faced with the daily task of opening gates, driving out, park car, close gate, go to work, come home and repeat in reverse

I wondered if I could buy something to open & close the gates electrically, via an in car remote? And how much these kinda things cost.

Any ideas?

Ta

Nuke,
I'm in the process of having one fitted now. Bought a really good insulated door as I got a room on top of the garage. Mines Georgian type panel door with motor and 2 remotes. Very secure. Cost me £850. Looks ace.

Is that for a garage? I want to keep the wooden gates I already have, so I would just need two motors (one for each gate) and some remotes.

Thanks for the reply, keep em comming...

Our new pad has an electric up and over garage door, can't help humming the theme to Thunderbirds everytime I open it, quite sad really.
