Any way of turning the b***ard T9 ditionary off for good?! I turn it off then if I press 'shift' twice the bloody thing comes back on GRRR

Any way round this or am I the only one that hates this predictive text crap?

Dave.

It does work quite well until you start using long words (4 letters and longer)that when it get on my nerves!!!!!!thats when i turn it off.
Btw give it to a 8yr old and watch them use it without probs.

Well I can use it but I find it holds me up, I can txt quite fast (not sure I should be proud of that ) but I press 'shift' twice so I can type the same key again without it changing the first letter!

but then you try to type and 'the' end's up as 'goat' or something T9 rubbish

T9 is fine if you write proper English, but crap if you try to write 'txt' English.

I have no problems with it and find it very fast and useful.

It's still far too slow! I tend not to write in 'txt' as it does my head in

Thumbs up

Thank you Huxley.

My Nokia started doing the predictive texting thing the other day. I spent ages trying to turn it off to no avail. It must rate as one of the most annoying things since the caps lock key!

Pressing the # key repeatedly toggles through the text modes.

To all those who use predictive, try "discombobulate".

Molds -- fortunately I don't use that word very often

I do, however, think that the T9 dictionary should auto-complete. If you're doing a long word it gets to a point where there really is only one word it could be. Why not autocomplete at that point?
