Default Newlook Fat Tax

Just seen on the news....

Think I'm in the minority here, but it would seem than most have a problem with paying more for the larger size clothes that are also available in "regular"size.

Example, women size 8 t-shirt £9.99, size 18 £12.99 (twice the material apparently)

I personally think we are propping up the nation of larger people already and this is only scratching the surface, but I won't go down this road as people might start knocking on my door wanting my head in Barnoldswick, just up the road from the Grey Hound Pub, Brown Door haha....

can't see the problem to be fair. bigger car more money. bigger bike more money, bigger anything more money due to the cost of materials, you can't buy a 5 bed house for the same price as a 2 bed, how some fat bint can moan about having to pay more for big girl size clothes baffles me

More material = higher cost, simple as that. There will be a point where the material used costs more, for example, sizes 6-12 the retailer could cover the cost / make less money, but above size 12 would be seen as taking too much of a hit, so more is charged. Not happy with it, lose some weight.

In principle, more material = more cost, therefore its fair to charge more.... but....

These clothes are more than likely made in some Bangladeshi sweat-shop where the extra material and labour costs of working that material probably amounts to less than 10p! If you're generous and also account for the extra weight and therefore shipping costs, you could probably add 50p, but not the £3 in the example above!

Should people with large feet pay more for their shoes?

btw, there should be some sort of extra tax for people who can't spell 'lose'😀

Don't they do that already to an extent? I'm fairly sure children's shoes are substantially cheaper than the equivalent adult's.

Already do, albeit they tend to be banded rather than a different price per size.

When buying your wife underwear it’s a hard one. Massive off putting knickers are cheaper then the thin tiny peice of fabric called a thong.
