Just tried to buy some scrap rebar from a local scrapper.
(It's to support a plastic fence to keep the wife's school chickens in over Christmas).

Apparently the place I dealt with last year no longer allow the public to buy bits, after someone went on site and, trying to extricate something, tumbled a pile onto himself.

H&S involved, scrapper fined....

There's always one, isn't there.

I used to enjoy going around scrap yards for bits when i had my first cars, gone are the days as now we have to go to a counter and try and describe what we want to some spotty kid who doesn't have a clue

I've found that, over the years, amy freedoms have been removed because of the stupidity of one person, whereas in fact, it's Darwinism in action.
