Father's Day in our family is just another commercialised excuse to give Hallmark some money and to waste on something that he doesn't need, never knew he wanted and could live without.
So, we acknowledge it, but don't go overboard. Like Mother's Day - same thing. Acknowledged but just as a small thing. Birthdays and Yuletimes are our big celebrations.
This year, my dad will be mostly getting a card and a large bar of chocolate.

Alpine - I'm quite sure that she'll get you up in the middle of the night as well as get you to get her dressed / change her and play with her.
Babies have adults so well trained at such a young age, too.

I've bought my dad a remote control fart machine It's the hi-tech version of the whoopie cushion I got it from GadgetsUK.com. I ordered it Tuesday and it arrived this morning but they do next day delivery for a fiver
I also got him a card with a Scoob on the front from Clinton cards, he'll be well chuffed as he's a total scooby nutter
He also reads ScoobyNet so I hope he doesn't see this So Dad, if you're reading this please look surprised on Sunday

Speaking as the father of someone who posts on here (and has me on his VIP list), I've been thinking about upgrading my graphics card to a GEforce 4 4600. Alternatively I could do with a new 80 Gb hard drive (which would of course release my old 40 Gb one should someone who downloads a lot of music files need one).
I'll keep thinking in case I can inspire anyone further.

Yes I am wondering what my 21month old has got me..
How she managed to get my size right with the socks and know my interests I really don't know.. she is damn clever.. must take after her mum.
If I don't get much then I think it must be time for another kid.
Mind you like you say that is another finger for me to be wrapped around..

Sorry to hear that Richard.
lost for words now..
At least you shared nice times at Le Mans together.. which is a good point as all I will be reminded of on Fathers day is the hassle of trying to come up with a present on for Fathers day.

scoobychick, that would be me...
By the way I'll be accepting any generous donations towards my fathers day gift, this year should be a good one. After all I'm not paying for my driving lessons...but, I know a man who is, even if he doesn't know it...yet.
