Default For the qualified medical fellows

Specifically anesthesia,

Do gingers have some form of resistance to this?

My guess is the answer to that will depend on whether you'd describe the OP's aneasthetizing of (the very ginger) Mrs Urban as part of their adult playtime routine as a "serious medical issue". Just to be clear, I'm not judging anyone here, what goes on in the privacy of one's own home is one's own business, so long as it's done safely and more or less in accordance with the law of the land

LOL - only on scoobynet!!!

I believe the answer to be yes (no medical qualifications) - gingers have a gene which makes them more susceptible to pain, this has some effect on receptors in their brain. Maybe higher doses of anaesthetic is needed to achieve the same level of sedation as a non-ginger.

I have a ginger friend who claims to be more resistant to the effects of alcohol as a result of his mutant genes, although he only made this claim after hearing the above on the one show!!! I've often wanted to knock him out without use of anaesthetic.

A woman at my work is ginger and is always winging about some ailment or another. I always just assumed that she was a hypochondriac. My lack of sympathy and understanding was, and still will be, most likely due to the fact she's a complete munter.

Ah - funny boys.

Nothing serious at all.
Just some eejit that is convinced anesthetic doesn't work, or has limited working ability on gingers

Wonderful, in which case tell said eejit that gingers don't feel pain in the first place on account of having no souls. So of course anaesthetic doesn't work.
