Default Dead In Here...

Just nipped in out of interest, less than a page and a half of new posts in two weeks! Quiet is an understatement. I'm guessing the self proclaimed King of Scoobynet is no more?

Oh well I'll disappear off again to my new haunts, Happy Christmas whoever is left!

There's just a load of zombies shambling about on here now and mumbling rubbish, just check some of the other threads for proof; and many of them wouldn't know a Subaru if one parked on their foot!

I only log on twice a week now and maybe a couple of pages to look at
Never the same after ps Lewis and tubby disappeared

All the forums have gone this way as people have moved onto fb but as its quicker to post photos and comments but With fb the good description and comments move down to fast so the forums are best for good information threads

Trouble is not many of us original subaru blokes left as no many buy a new one despite it being a great car as lots lost confidence with the 09 choc engine scandle and moved onto new marques

And those that keep them only fetch them out for shows or restoration work

I'm guilty of not posting or reading topics as much as I used to, particularly the past 2 months. I read more of PistonHeads now.

Happy Xmas everyone!

Can someone enlighten an old codger as to where everyone has moved onto, so I can come there too?

I keep hearing people say "oh i bought <random car part> on facebook" etc etc more and more often, and I'm in need of some bargains myself at the moment

Edit: 3000 posts in 13 years... I bet 90% of those posts were done in the first 6.5 years, so I'm also part of the problem, I think.

I think the buzz has gone from most forums as FB has taken a lot of peoples time but its no good for looking back on things you want to refer to and also you only reach those on your friends list where scoobynet has a wider audience.

And as stated above there isn't many of us Scooby Owners left and the Government is taxing us off the roads though I don't know what were are suppose to buy now Diesel are the devils spawn as well

I'm still here and in the process of buying Impreza no. 3

I think it's more noticeable the post drop off compared to other forums because it was so popular here at one point.

Mlr for instance was never as popular and it's post count now is fairly similar.

Imo I'd be tempted to merge some of the tech threads as they don't get visited that much so folk will be reluctant to post in there in case they don't get a response.

As for the politics of internet forums, it passes me by completely. There are **** on every forum, just ignore and move on

I post about other stuff all the time, the vaping thread is popular, but nothing gets the freaks out like a positive Apple thread.

I'll resurrect this as I thought the very same.
Apparently I last signed in April 23 2013. And last posted a year before that!
Certainly less activity. S'pose Facebook has savaged the forum communities. Shame really.
Hi to all from days of old

As mentioned already by others, Facebook is where most people "hang-out" now. The Essex section is a prime example of that. That section used to be almost as busy as NSR with threads been started every few minutes it seemed back in 2005-2010, then a lot of people moved on from the cars and Facebook took over and now there is about one thread every couple of weeks

I can see the appeal of Facebook for car stuff in some cases but I prefer a forum for the ease of navigating old info and keeping track in fast moving/long threads.
