Had your office xmas party?
Blimey.Taken me a day to get over hangover.
Went to Zulu sundance xmas party at NEC with about 1800 other revellers.
Got to say, best xmas party I've been to for a good while. And didn't get in trouble for once (I think.lol)

I've kept to small group ones and 1-to-1 meals this Christmas with the co-professionals I know and can have some half-decent conversations with. Not agoraphobic or anything, I can throw myself among the strangest crowds without any fear and have a gala time, but cannot stand these annually organised big Christmas work parties with a load of people making drunken pillock of themselves, and having to sit next to the people for dining that I have nothing in common with, and pretending to be matey with them for that moment. So I've successfully avoided them.
Glad you enjoyed yours, Loz.

I have become very selective about which Christmas functions I attend having been to more really bad ones than good ones. Lunch and a couple of drinks and a good laugh with those I got along with in places I have worked suits me better than a night out and getting totally mangled.

I worked for a company that really put a lot of effort into the xmas party
it was a big thing - and to be honest I do miss it
the whole company was there, from the post-boy to the CEO
for one night everyone was (sort of) equal
and we had some great ones
but now it is very different (for me) - in a lot of ways
I work from home most of the time, which in a lot of ways is fvcking fantastic, but it has its disadvantages
as in the EU nothing is perfect - but I do (sometimes) miss
the office atmosphere, the banter, the water cooler moments etc
I can go into an office, I could have gone to an office party - but it does not really feel the same
I think age is a factor tbh
but push comes to shove I would take my current working environment for an office xmas party any day
