Saw it last night. Enjoyed it, but ..............
SPOILER ALERT !!!! SPOILER ALERT !!!!!
It wasn't as good as the first two films, for one simple reason. JJ Abrams didn't direct it. The guy from Fast & the Furious directed it, and you could tell. Just wasn't as slick as the first two films.
But the glaring flaws ............
They've been exploring deep space. The first starship the the fleet to do so. 3 years they've been out there. Yet, they decide to go dock at the Federation's new space station.... in deep space. Not just that, but it's practically a small planet with Millions of people on it, including Sulu's family !!!
And yet ........... 20 mins away there is a planet with some bad guy on with weapons far more advanced that the federation have, yet he only bothered to attack after Kirk had popped round for a cup of tea. He didn't need that weapon to destroy the space station.
Enjoyable film, but flawed. Just wish JJ Abrams had kept going with Star Trek instead of going off to do Star Wars, which wasn't the best film either.
