Hello Peeps, could you help me out with this one?
Due to circumstances outwith my control I am now seeking a new job.
I am looking for a job as a marine engineer. I have an unrestricted class 3 stcw 95 certificate.
I would be most grateful of any addresses, phone numbers or e-mail addresses.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Martin.

Sorry to hear that mate. I have been out of work for a while, but looks like things are coming through now!
I hope it wasn't anything to do with your drinking
Take care

not sure if this is what you're after (and it's quite a distance as well) but you could try BAE Systems (lots of surface ships and new boat (submarines!) contracts, in Barrow-in-Furness - they always have options for Marine Engineers, and have great relocation packages.
Try general personnel on:
BAE Systems (Marine) Ltd
Personnel Dept
Waterside House
Barrow-in-Furness
LA14 1AF
again, not sure if this hits the mark, but mail me if you need more info

Thanks for the info peeps
Clarebabes, no nothing to do with the drinking The are putting the ship down to the bay of campeche in mexico. Went down there before, not very nice. I am not spending six weeks on board something I am going to hate.
Dave Brown, Thanks for the web address. Navigation systems are a completely different aspect, but thanks again.
MrDBM, nothing ventured nothing gained You don't have a phone number do you?
Thanks again for your time and help

infinity, no problem...
your best bet is personnel in Barrow on 01229 875396, a chap called Don Logan may be able to help you. You could also try going direct to a guy called Jon Pearson, a senior Marine Enginnering manager in Barrow, he's on 01229 873623.
You could also try the other yards in Glasgow, Scotstoun and Govan - may be a bit better for you. I don't have any details on Govan, but Scotstoun is quite a cool place. A possible number is etx. 4257 (try directory enquiries for main switchboard) a nice lady called Sandra McConnell may be able to help.
Both Barrow and Glasgow have enough surface ship and submarine contracts for the next ten years, labour is short as well! - Incidentally, the relocation package is all expenses paid up to 8K... mot bad, as I used it myself!
try the website, www.baesystems.com, as this might have some bits and pieces on it - if you need any more info, it's no problem
