Default Goodbye Scoobynet

Well its come to the point where I no longer have any interest in posting here. The reality free bubble is one thing, but the outright hatred by some who claim to be so tolerant is another.

A thread that was supposed to be about putting our differences behind us descended so rapidly into hate, bile and vitriol that any hope of reconciliation seemed a distant dream.

Shout at the moon all you like LOSERS, but the people have spoken, suck it up. Wail, howl, moan and throw those toys but come to realise that you really are children unable to deal with democracy. Grow the FVCK UP

Yeah yeah I know, don't let the door hit you etc etc, whatever

I never saw the thread or read it TBH, but I think if something on here has turned into such a bad thing then it should be suitably moderated and the offenders banned.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and other should agree, disagree or ignore (if they cannot have a reasoned discussion).

It is a shame that you feel the need to leave on those grounds but I guess it sums up some of the users on here, some who think they are untouchable.

If I had a pound for every announced "good bye SN", I'd be, erm, well, not a millionaire, but rich enough to buy a decent pub lunch.

Anyhoo. You should know by now that the average NSR lurker loves doom and gloom, so this is right up their street.

All the best Warren

And Paul...I am not banning someone for their opinions, no matter how much they may annoy/upset each other where debates get heated.

To do so would make me biased towards the party who has a moan to me first.

Why not tell Warren do what you told me to do so eloquently after the new year when I was reflecting on my career path?

No need to leave. Stick around, be democratic, live and let live and carry on posting, Warren. One doesn't have to go because of some ideological differences with the other camp; unless such differences are hard for the leaver to tolerate. Saying that, I can relate to this 'goodbye' sentiment. Today only I've decided to quit a regular face-to-face gathering that's not up my street. Reason being ideological differences with the majority. That's not the case with you here, Warren. I hope you stay. But if you've made up your mind, then your decision has to be respected.

All the best; either way.

ALi-B , do you know if there is a way of not seeing what someone has said when quoted , if they are on your ignore list ?

Kind of hard to "ignore" someone when they get quoted anyway.

Stick your fingers in your ears, close your eyes and shout "lalalalalala" until it goes away

I don't get the point or why it's such a problem. Don't read it if you don't like it you don't need an ignore list lol....

I think you can ignore someone by not interacting with them and by not falling for their bait. That's without using the 'ignore' function that doesn't work if technically ignored comment is quoted by some other entity.

I agree Ali, however, if the thread descended into:

A thread that was supposed to be about putting our differences behind us descended so rapidly into hate, bile and vitriol that any hope of reconciliation seemed a distant dream.

Surely that would contravene SN rules on bullying etc and warrant at leave a slap on the legs.

Unfortunately I cannot remember what advice I gave Ali, hopefully it was something positive and motivational as you are still around.

A fatal flaw of VBulletin I'm afraid and been asked about for years (decades?)

Unless someone somewhere patches/hacks it, but I'd be the last to know (like the spam filter they installed without telling anyone that's blocking noobs from posting )

I thought you'd blocked pretty much anyone who didn't agree with you anyway?

Anyway I understand why you're off. Enjoy your victory.

Let's all say something nice about each other especially people we disagree with?

I'll go first...
Warren, you showed full and passionate commitment to your cause and your belief in it was far stronger than mine.

It should be investigated for stupidity.

The super clever remain voters can't grasp the concept of democracy.

Did you even read my post ?

I had you and a couple of others on there but it was pointless as you all quote eachother telling eachother how right you are and how funny you are. Either that or quoting you to tell you how much of a **** you are.

Either way i don't really want to see it so thought the best way was to put you all on my ignore list. Much the same as if i meet people like you in "real life" , i just ignore them.
