Default RIP Chekov :(

Just heard that Anton Yelchin has been killed in a tragic accident

http://news.sky.com/story/1714356/st...n-dies-aged-27

Thought he was pretty good in the Star Trek reboots, and as Odd Thomas

RIP Anton

RIP. Sounded like a unpleasant way to die...guessing he forgot to put the car into "park" before getting out and may have been there for quite some time before being found

Obviously not a modern BMW (amongst other makes) as if anyone tries to manoeuvre one with the drivers door open can confirm...or a faulty door latch switch...it won't let you move more than 1ft. I've blurted out more than a few swear words when trying to manoeuvre ours in a tight space because of this safety feature, but after reading about this I think now it does serve a purpose.

I just hope this doesn't mean the end of the Re-boot Star-Trek films, as I think these new films are brilliant.

Yeah, really sad. I thought it was just dumb luck and for sure a bad way to go. My other half sent me this, apparently it may have been in park but may have had some kind of fault:

Oh Crap..I didn't realise it was a Cherokee.... ZF's/Fiat/Chryslers 9 speed gearbox strikes again. Since its launch the 9 speed has had numerous complaints with a plethora of faults; Random gear selection being one of them. Now that it's possibly killed someone it's really going hit the fan...rightly so.

But of course Chrysler being part American, unlike Toyota or VAG maybe given leniency...it will be interesting how the US government reacts to this in comparison to how they've reacted to non-US manufacturers.

Yeah, it will be interesting, indeed. I'd be amazed if the family didn't get a whopping payout but they've been pretty private about it all, understandably.
