and the French film company filming it couldn't get their plane off the ground , same with the mens presently - so no coverage

It wouldn't happen in any prestigious men's event like the Tour De France or the Vuelta in Spain, they'd have a stand by plane ready in no time at all.

The planes are a massive expense, sounds like they tried to cut corners. I might be working on the Vuelta de Espana in a similar area, hope it happens.
