Default Pulley problem

What's the Velocity ratio of this system, anyone? five, or six?

I reckon six.

Distance moved by effort over distance moved by load, so I thought the answer would be shown as a formula, not sure where your getting the numbers from.

VR is usually easily obtained by looking at the number of strings actually suspending the load. In this case, six....but the two left hand pulleys are joined, effectively making it one. So the VR of this system is three.

Nasty question.
