Default Aviva Drive app

My van insurance renewal from Aviva was more than I expected recently (no changes from last year, convictions or accidents, etc) and they wouldn't come down, but suggested I tried this app to get a discount:

http://www.aviva.co.uk/drive/

I'm doing so at present, but wondered if anyone else had used it and if it had helped get your premium down?

Incidentally, having done all the usual comparisons, Aviva are still unbeatable, so I'd appreciate it if this didn't become a 'why don't you try www.cheaper-than-aviva-van-insurance.com' thread, thanks.

I will be interested to see what her renewal is

Maybe she'd get 5/5 if it was fitted to her car instead Hodgy....

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Interesting though that is, I'm still keen for any experiences with the Aviva app if anyone else has tried it. If not, I've only got about 85 miles to go with it, so I'll keep you posted.

I finished my 200 miles with the app today, scored 8.8 out of 10 and got my £303 van insurance for £226.

However we had a multi-vehicle policy with them and it had no effect on the price for the car, so I've taken that off and gone to another insurer, saving another £58.

On balance, if you're with Aviva and drive sensibly while you use it, it will reduce your insurance premium with them. But their policy might be more expensive than elsewhere of course, so you still need to do your annual comparisons.

I think you're probably right, but if you can be bothered to try it and use Aviva, it's worthwhile.

Its a good point LOL ..would the app INCREASE your premium if you get a low score. Or is the worst price you get just the normal quote that you would have got without the app, i.e 0% discount
