HE isn't whinging as such.He has found an alternative method to get home that suits him & works out marginally cheaper.He likes spending the day in Berlin.
Good luck to him I say.Sounds like a pretty savy kid.Also blogging allows other kids to explore these options & spend time in European cities if they choose.I would when I was young.

When I used to travel abroad for my company I would often fly out on the Friday evening & spend the weekend exploring & enjoying the destination before starting work on the Monday.I would offer to cover the cost of the weekend but my boss was a top guy & let it go.The cost of most foreign hotels was usually much less than British equivalents.

This also highlights that travel in Britain is very expensive.

 

it would cost me 50 quid in fuel alone there and back - admittedly mine isn't a diesel ( who'd want the repair bills)
