Street Spirit has been my favourite for the last 12 years, that was until I heard this:

True, it is a classic IMHO too, but to be fair I honestly cannot pin it down to just one song gladly, there are so so many great songs out there.

Laurent Garnier - The man with the red face.

I have listened to it hundreds of times and I still love it. The video is epic too.

Totally agree.

For that reason, one of my favourites.............

I like many songs that aren't exactly iconic nor will they essentially live on for five thousand years. They don't have to; to be my favourite. Not that I want all of them to be played in my funeral or anything.

Led Zeppelin, "That's the way", from Led Zeppelin III, Oct 5 1970.

Seen them do it live. Bit folksy for some, but I love the pedal steel guitar.

I'll specify it played at my funeral.

Des'ree's 'Life'*

If only because she had the audacity to pen the 'classic' verse:

# I don't want to see a ghost,
It's a sight that I fear most,
I'd rather have a piece of toast,
And watch the evening news #

*Only kidding, of course.

Thing is, it's a hard question, 'cause it's a 'mood thing'.

(Obviously, Smells Like Teen Spirit has to be up there).

There's just so many...and covering so many genres.

An all but impossible question to satisfactorily answer, IMO.

Dave, the Frank Wilson-Do I Love You on Soul Records is a $30,000+ 7", he didn't like the production so smashed most of them up but a few escaped, The U.K. label Tamla 45 is a fair bit cheaper

Good shout but I like Mr Big even more.

Chunky chords from Koss and Andy Fraser's bass is superb.

RIP the two of them.

Too many to chose from, agree with some of the above and also depends what mood you are in.

Was a huge Smiths fan when I was younger, have been into Prodigy and Pendulum for a long time, but also love some of the old Motown stuff, also have Carpenters, Stones, Florence, Stereophonics, Evanescense and even some Slipknot in my Sonos play list.

Been to Glasto for the last ten yeas or so, only get Sunday tickets this year , and seen some great acts, but first thing in the morning at the moment I am playing this which it my favorite at the moment, although wife hates it.

This song has been my favourite for over 50 years. Something about it gets to me every time, not least being the wonderful tone from Peter's guitar.
