Agreed (some what worryingly). You can't advertise cigarettes because they are addictive and bad for you, yet vaping which is also addictive (and maybe bad for you) is fair game.

 

1. Loop hole..its not smoking (i.e burning tabacco). So it is legal - you can vape where you like, although some places do ban it - its not because of any law.Same with advertising

2. Law changes take forever to be passed through parliment. Our policticans only turn up for work during PM's questions to have a childish boo and jeer (payed for by the tax payer).

The bigger criticism though is the morals of TV channels that allow it to be advertised.


I for one want to see it taxed and regulated. Mainly because stuff comming in from China could contain anything. I don't want it banned though as really this is a better alternative to smoking (apart from giving up).

I'm retired, have little energy, am in fairly constant pain, so cannot even read as much as I'd like, am bored silly by TV...so have little else to do.

Walking the dog in the park every morning I walk past the same school girls smoking and when I say girls I mean 13 ish .. makes my stomach turn. How can anyone start smoking these days? it's just stupid.

You'd assume they were easily influenced but could I get them to come see my puppies.

What started out as a fad picked up by Reddit-browsing, fedora-wearing perma-virgins has gone "mainstream" and now there is a huge culture of vaping to be cool.....modifying their "rigs" to produce bigger clouds etc, competitions, online forums......its pathetic.


With a bit of luck in ten years time they will all have some horrible lung disease and I will laugh my *** off.

Does the wife work in a Primary school and can gauge a kid's age? yes.

And one of my points is that vaping is BECOMING cool just by being advertised.

Plus, it's like, "Look at me...you can't do anything about this!"

JFYI its actually VG and no nicotine is used.......and no i dont do it or a member of any cloud chasing forum as it does not interest me.

IMO yes maybe pathetic , maybe a bit like car forums, pics of cars, my car is 400hp.........well mine is 500hp. Lets spend 30k on a rice burner to try and make it something it will never be, is that pathetic too?. Pics of engines.........wow look at my 5" exhaust.

Each to their own is my point, but to wish something like that and find funny, there is a 50% chance it will happen to you as it will me.........lets hope no one laughs their *** off at you at that time when it comes..........which more than likely will.
