Electric Shower - what happened?
Last Saturday evening I was in our kitchen and water started pouring in via a light fitting through the ceiling. This blew the house electrics of course but I grabbed a torch and went upstairs to the bathroom which is directly above the kitchen.
The bathroom has an electric shower which is turned on using a pull cord just inside the door. Water was pouring through the actual switch fixed on the bathroom ceiling at the top of the pull cord. Someone had pulled the cord so shower was "on" for a few days. I pulled the cord turning it off and water immediately stopped.
Can anyone explain how water had reached this point? I am at a loss to think what might have happened.
Kitchen lights took a day to dry out before I could turn trip switch back to proper position.
