Excellent! My miserable ex step father should get his fine and points shortly!!

Utterly pathetic driver who lived in the middle lane. Empty motorway or not. Used to drive me insane

Saw a **** in his Audi on the M1 yesterday, laid back, left hand at 12 o'clock on the wheel, weaving in and out of traffic, phone clamped solidly to his ear. ****!

The driver failed to turn up to court and was fined £500 in his absence and ordered to pay £400 in costs with a £40 victim surcharge.

He was also hit with five penalty points on his licence, sending out a strong message to other road users who flout the law.
Until he has it overturned by saying he never received court documents, etc.

Then it will be dropped to £100 and three points, if that.

Sends out a message I wish a few others would get...the A2/M2 in Kent, near the Medway crossing, is a typical spot, with knobbers in the third lane of four....and nothing inside them.

Just read the story and he was trying to be clever by missing two court appearance hence why his fine and costs were so high. If your summonsed to court by the police you just go, being self employed would make it easy for him to attend a couple of hours at court.

I bet if he went the 1st time he would of just had about £200 in fine and costs?

Has anyone noticed the new style of driver?
Totally opposite to the middle lane hogger, this one weaves in and out of traffic just to be in the left hand lane even if it means two seconds...
I can only presume its directly from this outcome.

No, but I have noticed a fair number of hard shoulder users on the M42.....when the hard shoulder isn't in operation as a running lane (sign indicates when it can be used).

it has a sort of poetic symmetry, head in the sand driving in middle lane

head in the sand when summonsed

then plays the victim card

The entry-level penalty would only be half that, apparently:

I know where your coming from. I'm from the area and frequently travel across the bridge. However, I'm usually in the inside lane or second lane as I'm doing about 60mph! But the amount of cars I see travelling in the third lane and similar speeds baffles me...

I'd suggest after all the comments online about him being a ****, he paid it himself via a friend to make it look like he had some support form the public.

You guys will find this interesting, I copied and pasted the following from another forum. The thread I got it from is entitled 'How to park like a c*nt'

My friends, I have here true serial utter c*ntishness c*ntishness.

Some of you may remember that the first person in the UK to be charged with Middle Lane hogging was recently convicted, and it turns out he lives up the road from me...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ne-hogger.html

Poor little snowflake reckons he's being picked on because he's a white van man and he's actually a very considerate driver.

Well, look what I saw the other day at my local Co-op store

Is yellow disability bays? By missing two court appearances blaming work it's obvious he is trying to play a game.

A friend of mine says he sits in the outside lane all the time as he thinks sitting at the speed limit entitles him to it. He says he is under taken all the time and people constantly harass him but he doesn't care as he drives a security vehicle with cameras fitted so if they stop him he will contact the police and say he is in trouble.

LOL not only in a dissy bay, but also can't park in the lines. Its also a Citroen (which tend to attract those types of drivers...usually Picasso drivers are the worst ).

Says it all, this is exactly the behavior of middle lane man; totally ignorant to everyone else.

He's going to get picked on now. And all for the right reasons.
