Amazing no one is answering this here! You'd think that a lot of petrolheads from here would go, wouldn't you? I've never been to it and not going, but that sounds exciting! Have a good time, Littleted.

Probably been about 15 times though not for the past few years. Its become too corporate, far too expensive and too busy. Used to be better when there were more small stalls to look around rather than just car manufacturers with huge stands. Shame really as it used to be a fantastic event.

The best year we had was when I won an auction for CLIK cancer charity which resulted in a co drive on the rally stage. Gave it to my youngest daughter who had second fastest time of the day behind Mikko Hirvonen. She had to have a medical before hand and get a licence to do it. The team also gave her Nicky Grists race overalls which then wore all day. We also got a copy of the video of her lap from the TV production company that was filming it. Great day was had by all and on top of what I paid in the auction we raised a further 740 quid for CLIK as well which was nice.

At the end of the day if the price keeps the riff raff out then good news

Real petrol head......does that mean you have to be poor to be one?

Its only 60 odd quid buy I guess that's two weeks dole money.

Out of the many questions or replies to threads that I've made this is the first time you've abused me.. You've always helped other than that.. So I'll let you have that one....

FYI I'm not on the dole or have ever been.. The point being at 63£ it's far out of reach for most people..

And before you or anyone else says "it's only 63£". It's not, by the time you've paid fuel and food and other family members your getting on for over 200£.

I still don't get the too expensive for a real petrol head..
That implies that all genuine petrol heads are poor, added to that I can't see as 60 odd quid being overly expensive, it's less than a tank of fuel in an impreza.

I'm not sure how anyone can think that the entrance fee is too dear.

Who do you think pays to transport all the cars there from around the world? Who pays for the star drivers appearance fee, hotels etc?

Considering the logistics involved the entrance fee is very reasonable.

I even think it's cheaper than the Revival and that is still superb value for money too!

+1
The implication that all petrol heads are poor also makes me laugh.
Sound like an sioc quote from a man that's just ruined his wrx.
Ferrari owners etc are petrol heads otherwise they wouldnt spend such a large amount of cash on a car

There is nowhere else in the world where you'll see the collection of cars and bikes they run at Goodwood and to see many of them driven by the Dudes that raced them back in the day is phenomenal.

It's even better value when compared to the likes of Top Gear live, which starts at £45.00 a ticket (according to the o2 website).

Mind you one year we went we could've got in for free because they started directing people in to the competitors area at the top of the rally stage. So we were able to get on the tractor back to the main arena and at no point were our tickets checked.
