New series of this and it sounds like it will be a good watch. The team are restoring and bringing back to life an old Aston Martin DBS.

I'm sure it'll be a lot more interesting than your old Sunday Top Gear.

Good show. Unexpected amount of profit made! They spent £87k on it and I thought they'd struggle to break even.

Very impressed by the guy that did the leather. Not many people are that knowledgeable about cows stretchmarks.

I watched it, and thought it was good. The best one they've done is the Ford Mexico

Would that be 10 or 20 or 100 x. The original time to produce it

I'm slowly becoming more and more of a classic car man. That DBS was just beautiful and if I had £150k to spend on a car, I'd choose something like that in a heartbeat over a new supercar. New cars just don't do anything for me these days....

I was good but seemed to jump whole stages of the restoration process - engine in, and suddenly it's painted, it's not quite".........is Born" as an example.

Glenister is a good lad but the scripting is nearly as staged as TG was. But not a bad programme to watch on catch up and get 15 minutes of your life back. I hate adverts

That's why I like the Wheeler Dealers format - just right.

Although, what with their ever increasing budget, they farm out more and more jobs to specialists. So they don't spend so much of the time showing some of the resto, in detail (compared to the early series).

Talking of which, anyone else been watching the latest series - they've 'opened their own work garage in the US'.

It's a good programme, but I fail to see how they could have made a profit with 6,000 man hours.

Even at just £20 an hour, that's £120k.

6,000 hours is one bloke working on it for 40 hours every week for 3 years solid. Can't be right surely.

Agreed about Wheeler Dealers. Take the BMW 2002 they featured last week, it went in for a respray and came back with quite a bit more done. It still has enough of the earthy charm to make it worth watching. Plus the chemistry between Mike and Ed is still there.

I couldn't help but laugh.

I assumed she didn't otherwise, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have posted that.

Its a very watchable show, but I preffered when they left the last show of the series for the auctions, as said they seemed to skip a lot of the restoration detail this week.

The price of certain classic cars is getting crazy now, the Channel 5 Classic Car show is worth a watch on Thursdays with Jodie Kidd.

Divided up by the various people doing jobs on the car. Upholstery person won't be working on engine etc. could be a team of four on a chassis refurb......

6000 does seem a lot though!

4Star Classics have an E30 Evo Sport up at a smidge under £100k at the moment. There is also an RS200 up for £155k on Ebay, so wasn't a one off as such. The jump in the last ten years has been like the housing market bubble tbh. Even 325i MTech Sports are into 5 figures if clean, yet you can buy a less fashionable 190e 2.6 Mercedez Benz with change from £5k to insure it, service it and tax it for three years!

Know what, I disagree, I think there was too much time devoted to driving around in various motors and not enough time given to the actual restoration. Sorry silver sub, no offence meant

This is why WD will always be my preferred car resto format.

No offence taken, hopefully be better next week, with the hot hatches.
