After watching it looks most likely that it was the cyclist on the Phone so the thug van driver thinks I will knock him off and claim he ran in to him too busy on his Phone and wandering all over the road, amazing to think if no helmet cam was there the police might come check Phone records and out come might have been different.

I think the cyclist says to the van man - "get off the phone muppet"
then you can see Mr Angry in the Van yank the wheel down hard to the left, which makes the van swerve and knock the cyclist off his bike

Bet they are getting loads of extra enquiries now too just so the driver can visit them.
No excuse for he attack or ramming him off the road regardless of who was on the phone either but that's how things escalate.

**** on a bike going up the inside of the van and a bigger **** in the van.
The guy on the bike after going up the inside does a double take on the van and feels the need to start giving others ****, what is he, a undercover push bike cop.
Its not right what the guy did (van man) but I wouldn't give two workmen in a van some **** either.
Be the bigger man and keep your mouth shut.

The cyclist should of slowed to allow both vehicles to complete their turns but that makes no difference as a cyclist is considered like a pedestrian so the van driver should of shown more respect and the incident would never of happened! Now that its going to the police I bet there is a 3rd party claim from the cyclist and it serves the van driver right as if you did that to a pedestrian what do you think would happen.
I know if that were me on foot I would of phoned an ambulance wether I was hurt or not as it must be a £2k bill for an emergency vehicle and the bill would go straight to the van driver for causing the incident.

Or be the bigger man and drive on rather than using a vehicle as a weapon.

No fault with the guy on the bike (other than going up the inside ) but if i saw my father giving someone a piece of his mind i would be worried for him and advice him to shut up next time.

If you watch the full length video and think of it in the terms that the van driver has just over taken a small car, within 1 maybe 2 seconds of over taking he has to break due to a big vehicle turning left! if he had over taken a car they would then have to break hard to avoid some idiot who has just cut them up but in this instance they would be in the back of them!
The cyclist doesn't really have much tome to react and the van driver knows he has just over taken a bike so he must know the bike will be right next to him as its obvious!
Now in that situation who would knock the cyclist over?

My attitude to cyclists is steadily getting worse as I see so many acting the goat these days, but nothing condones the behaviour of the van driver in the video. I hope he gets what's coming to him.
With the benefit of hindsight the cyclist should probably have challenged him on the mobile phone thing in a more polite manner or not at all, but he certainly did not deserve the reaction he got.

The van driver was on the phone, purposely ran the guy down and is clearly a dick. People know they shouldn't be on the phone so I think he's just right for telling him to get off it. The cyclist however should have stayed back from the van until that junction was cleared and perhaps none of it would have happened.
