THATCHER STATUE
...Bust unveiled in the Falklands.
Be 'interesting' to see if/how Kirchner/Argentina 'reacts'...

I've recently heard that with the EC sanctions in place, Russia has agreed to buy food, (beef and grain) from Argentina.
But guess what the Argies want in return? I heard long-range bombers, bombs and weaponry.
I wonder where those might be used?

Yup, no one can deny she had a decent pair of knackers.
I would love to see her dealing with this lot of spineless PC idiots we seem to be run by nowadays.

Agreed...but being female, she couldn't stop at the right point, and her utter spite was there for all to see.

Of course he did...for ANOTHER political ideology and because he loved his own voice.
But it wasn't JUST the miners she was spiteful towards.

Must admit, missed most of what was going on as i was serving in the HM forces at the time in Germany. Most stuff was dominated by the miners strike. Scargill was determined to bring down the Thatcher government, Thatcher was going to stamp on Scargill. Unfortunately the poor sodding miners got stuck in the middle. Had Scargill not been such a gobshyte i'm sure some resolution could have been found.
No doubt the mines would have still been closed down, but at least it could have been done in a more controlled manner. In my opinion Scargill made the miners plight far worse than it should have been.
So who else was Thatcher spiteful towards?

The manufacturing heartland of the UK. (There is a reason why we no longer have much manufacturing capacity, and she is it).
Steelworkers.
Teachers.
In fact most workers other than bankers, the police, (who became her private army), and government/council workers in the upper pay grades.
But the ones I've mentioned you can see the spite in her decisions...NO-ONE was allowed to question her ideology.

Not quite
I was lucky enough to be in other employment other than mining, but I witnessed first hand what she did. As others are saying on here Scargill didn't help much, it became personal between the two, the miners didn't have much chance with those two at loggerheads.
