New TomTom sat nav - what one ?
Guys looking to buy a new Tomtom sat nav unit to replace my old tt one v2. to be honest thou bit baffled by all the different model numbers / prices etc ??!! what I want is around a 5" max screen size, uk /ire maps only. ability to upload custom poi`s for ( pgpsw speed cams etc ) and to be able to accept an sd card.
most don't seem to accept custom pois now which means I could not install the pgpsw speed cams, are the official tt ones that bad in comparasion ? like the idea off the new free map updates for life.
any suitable matches to the above spec ?

I had to replace a Tom Tom one (I thought it had been nicked but actually found it in my Jacket a month later)
I replaced it with this
the biggest **** is that it does not have a separate mounting bracket - so you have to take the whole thing (sucker included) off the windscreen every time you park the car, which is a pain
with my Tom Tom 1 I can simply swap the device between mounting brackets in each car or put in my pocket (which is probably why I mislaid the fvcker for a month - lol)
other than that it is pretty similar - seems to require slightly more power to keep charging
I am not a power user tbh, I am not really interested in live camera/traffic updates etc etc
so it gives me little advantage over my original tom tom one

tbh i would bit the bullet and get the £250 one, go 5000/6000. best feature mine has (earlier version, live 825) is the live services mainly traffic, saves numerous hours sat in traffic
other option is can get the 825 for less than £150
