Default Crisps & Sweets Of Your Childhood...!!

Whatever happened to the damn Beef flavour Wotsits?!

Back in the 70s/80s they used to be happily sold side by side with their Cheesy brethren... But where the hell have they gone to?

Ah man, I used to have those a lot when at school. Delish.

I love Wotsits. Light and fluffy. Better than Quavers.

I don't think these sort of snacks should be made with any meat flavour. IMO vegetarian flavoured snacks are acceptable e.g. cheese and onion, but bacon, beef, chicken and even fish flavour snacks are unacceptable, and disrespectful to the real meat. They don't do it for me.

You want the flavour of meat, have meat itself. Simple.

I'm not usually a fan of beef-flavoured 'puffy corn/maize' snacks (potato crisps are fine though)... But, as a miniature kid, I really loved Beef Wotsits!

Still love the Cheesy ones of course... Indeed, I've got a pack in the cupboard, which I'll positively demolish later.

Never liked those. But virtually all of my peers did; and with some aplomb, too... I always felt like an outsider lol. They're the epitome of my dislike of beef-flavoured maize snacks.

Used to really like the picked onion ones though... The breath lol

TBH, I thought they were still around (as well as the caramel and nougat one, or whatever that filling is).

Didn't they also do a biscuit and raison one? Or am I thinking of that version of Yorkie bar?

Hedgehog crisps.

Anyone remember them? Not that I liked them as such, just haven't seen them since.

Yeah, I remember.

IIRC, the flavour wasn't far off OXO crisps (remember those?)... Just less 'beefy' and less intense.

My favourite ever crisps of all time were Smith's Horror Bags:

Fangs - cheese & onion
Bones - salt 'n' vinegar
Claws - smokey bacon IIRC
Bats - can't remember
Ribs - can't remember
Wings?

Yum-****ing-yum!

Christ, I wish they'd bring them back!!

Yeah the Nutty sublime, still available as an Import from the states, found in most Tesco's called a "Pay Day" but I aint paying £1.50 for one !! always stock up when in the states.

Another more modern favourite long gone is the Cadbury's "Fuse"

A very recent one has now left the shelves. Cadbury's Marvellous Creations Cola Pretzel and Honeycomb. E-mailed them last month and it's been taken out of production, although I stumbled upon 5 bar in a shop last week and snapped them all up at a mere £0.79 a bar only two left
