Default Combi Boilers

Well I think the boilers close to death, but after 13 years the Ariston Micro genius has done well ( consid they make washing machine ) for 5 people.

So I wanted to ask you plumbers something.

Firstly my dad was a plumber and Corgi for over 50 years now 82 lifting **** like this isn't for him, and as he retired the best boiler were Valliant.

Im going to pick a new boiler and obviously these are expensive but good still I presume.

Whats the other makes like specifically Ideal and Worchester, I rem back in the day Worchester were also good but I believe they changed somewhat over the years and are not as good as they used to be.

anybody offer me advice

thanks

P>S

Are the Ideal with 7 year warranty worth the extra or are the ones that come with 2 just as good... I have British gas cover anyway....

Forget the british gas cover is my advice.... They are sheisters who will rob you at every opportunity and for the price of the cover just put that into a separate bank account and before the boiler breaks down you will have enough to cover a whole new one.... Really not worth the time or effort especially as i would never let any one in a BG van anywhere near my house! (I worked for them for 4.5hrs before walking out due to the way they rob people)

The Ideal, or the baxi with a 7 - 10yr warranty are the ones to get, they will be fairly conifdent in the product to offer that kind of warranty and if it goes **** up they have to sort it out

Worcester are very expensive and a nightmare to fit, and the warranty isnt as good, parts are way more expensive and to be honest for the money I would rather have something with a lesser brand and more warranty.

I have 4 baxis fitted in the last 2 yrs in my place, old mans place, yada yada yada and not had a single issue, easy to fit and with the 7yr warranty Id happily fit them again!

i used to sell boiler spares and the most spares we sold were for valliant/worcester

the cheaper ones are worth considering

we sold no end of alphas/baxi's/pottertons etc with hardly any problems

viessmann are good aswell but can be pricey,i myself wouldnt go for an ideal though

if memory serves me right the most popular i sold was the alpha cd50c,they bollock out the hot water but they are on the large side

Water pressure is relating to the water pressure coming into your building not the boiler??

LOL my Dad did similar once, Gloworm rep offered some good bulk deals so he replaced a old-but-working Ideal Turbo 2 with a Gloworm Energy Saver 80...worst boiler ever - barely lasted 5yrs before it was a write off.

To think all the houses his company built had these things fitted too - which was rather embarassing.

I've just had a Ideal LOGIC COMBI+ HE30 fitted and first impression is very good, plus the 7 year warranty.

I've got an intergas boiler fitted last year, very quiet. Don't think many things go wrong with them.

Again logic 30+ is a great boiler along with baxi duo tec. Fitted many of both with very few problems. Had one diverter fail in a duo tec but was under warranty so changed for free by their engineers.

But BMW drivers have a lot to answer for. Unlike your beloved boiler
