Cycle light
I'm after recommendations for a front light for my bike.
My cycle to work is just over 11 mile and the last 4 are on very dark country roads, the main requirements are
Must last around 2 hour
Must be a decent spread of light
Be easily swapped between main beam and strobe
Be easily removed from the bike
All for around £50 if possible

I bought this one http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lezyne-micro...ont-led-light/
it performs better than I thought it would, 4 hours on a decent amount of light and an hour on an obscene amount of light - for it's size - has a USB plug built in so no cables needed to charge.

The Hope 1 can be bought for slightly over your budget but would fulfil all roles and last forever.
Avoid cheap, imported no brand tat; it'll overheat and fail on you at the worst possible moment.
Get a good rear light too; Cateye 610LD is brilliant and fairly cheap.

1000 Lumens. Came out very well in recent tests. I'm waiting for stock so I can get one myself

I've got a troutlite lumen liberator, but at around 2200 lumens it's a bit daft.

Mine is the very similar Luminous 601 Pro. Better made (I tested both back to back) but sadly the guy that makes them is a complete t1t. Great light though.

A guy at work's a bike guru and he recommended these to me, got one about 18 months ago and it's been perfect.
I use it regularly and part of my commute is a country lane. With the Cree on full beam I can see everything ahead and have even been flashed by an oncoming car.
Battery life seems to last forever
Mine was dirt cheap and turned up from China within 10 days, buy it it'll suit you perfectly

I got one of these
http://www.mtbbatteries.co.uk/mounta...v2-bike-light/
£89, so a bit over budget but they're UK based and offer good support.
I use in town and in the middle of nowhere, hasn't let me down at all. Have had quite a few people ask me where I got it.
Normally use it on lowest setting for commuting, then 1 button click and its strobing full power - which is bright!
Have had it off-road in Davagh Forrest in the pitch black and again, no problems at all with seeing where I was going.
Also gets attached to my dumper for when I'm working late in the woods, so I can see what I'm cutting/digging and where we're going

The Cree performed great, it lasted over two hours on full power which was very bright, when I initially tried the light I very very doubtful it would last as it was so bright but it met all my needs
Cheers folks
